Merry Christmas!!

Surprisingly the media in India has given an extensive coverage on Christmas and the celebrations. But sadly none gave coverage on the birth of Jesus, teachings of Jesus or any moral stories that would have helped thousands religious and non-religious amid violence and chaos here.

As I wish you a happy Christmas, let me urge you not to be lost in the world of cakes and tinsel decorations while the centrality of the festival is lost. We are celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. It is the story of God coming to earth as a man to serve and love us. He came “to preach good news to the poor”, so he was born among the poorest of the poor. The King was born in a manger. “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many” (Mark 10:45). The manger represents serving. Let us learn to be humble, serving and loving like Jesus was, giving life to many!!

May your Christmas be filled with joy and happiness. Best wishes for now and the coming year.
