LTTE and Prabhakaran dead. What next?

It is over. Tamil Tiger Supremo Velupillai Prabhakaran was shot dead by the Sri Lankan security forces. Thousands of Tamils today have fallen into a glum state. Their war for Tamil Eelam is over. To tell you the truth, I have no tears rolling for Prabhakaran and for the death of his young son (24-year-old) Charles Anthony whom he forcefully made join the LTTE. Rather, my tears go to those 70,000 who have been killed in pitched battles, suicide attacks and bomb assassinations.
My tears go to those countless children who have lost their father or mother. To those who lost their houses/land; to those who lost their education; to those who lost their future; to those who lie in the hospital, hopeless and half-dead; to those who face hunger and thirst. Sometimes I wished if the fight for Tamil Eelam never existed. Was it then possible, or was it now? Finally, it has failed…but has given birth to dreadful war stories.
Several times India tried to help. Even when initially in 1972 the LTTE was only called Tamil New Tigers, India offered its long arm…however it ended in 1991, when India lost one of its most potential and adept Rajiv Gandhi. Further Norway in 2002 tried to bring it on the table, went in vain. Debate and discussion failed and now LTTE which chose the path of violence will go into the history books remembered as “dangerous”, “ruthless” dreaded modern guerilla group.
What he could have possibly done?
Prabhakaran could have established an internal autonomy within the framework of Sri Lankan Constitution – - when he got the chance. Instead, he became more arrogant and dictatorial. Once the internal autonomy was achieved, he could have strengthened his army, his authority, passion, nationalism and further got the international attention into this, which would have easily led him to gain success in this 20-plus years. So many years have gone waste with more and more lives lost. He did the biggest mistake of his life when he ordered to kill Rajiv Gandhi. India would have offered more help, if he had not taken the man who was a “savior” to millions.
He is responsible for all the thousands who have died and lost their families. He is solely responsible!!! I hear my Tamil friends sympathizing saying “I will not leave Sri Lanka for what they have done”, “We will avenge for anna’s death.” I told them clearly they are on the wrong path. Apparently, many have decided to sacrifice their education, family and form a new troop of their own, which they believe will continue what Prabhakaran ended. Some have already arrived from Canada, London..etc…Here is a message for you buddies – YOU are on the path to destruction. The story of Prabhakaran is over!! It is time to revive life and help the millions who remain stranded in relief camps and the shores of Tamil Nadu. We have to cry for them. You embracing this new path of violence, will render more dead, injured and lost. It’s really a sad end to the saga of the Tamil struggle and put the past back and start afresh.
You will get no sympathy, empathy by embracing the path of violence and war. History is created by people like Gandhi, people like Martin King Luther, people like Nelson Mandela, who were fragile and incapable, but had the most strongest, profound mind, spirit, soul. Who believed in humanity and in the good morals of our society. I regret for all what has happened. The scar is too deep and I am afraid it will not be wiped off easy. My love and prayers go to all those suffering Tamils who are waiting for their next meal and hoping for the last sign of hope for survival.
I have a sincere appeal to those expressing sympathy to LTTE head and have vowed to continue his role. Today, this modern world, we cant survive with violence. We have to overcome it with LOVE. The Tamil community has offered some of the best: G. Subramania Aiyer, CV Raman, Abdul Kalam, AR Rahman, Anand, RK Narayanan….etc..etc..I can quote more than 100 names if wanted. Why not be such a person who can contribute to the human society? Take it to the next level and make the Tamil community proud of your contributions!!
If you have been brainwashed by someone in joining some pseudo-nationalist groups, shoot me a mail for help – cptjacksparrow@gmail.com.

You sicko! what you say is not what Tamil people say. We will fight till the last breath of ours for our homeland. Let it be taking bombs, guns, but our goal will be achieved. And nobody will stop us.
Sam you believe or not, in last one month over 100 Tamil students from Canada, US, London and Germany have come to Chennai to start a new group like LTTE. Somebody should really stop this before it goes out of hand my brother.
Sam give me a gun. I will first shoot that tamizhan commenter. People like this are a shame for our community. I think what Sam said is right. Prabha should have thought like a statesman and acted more sensibly.
I wonder if you guys commenting here are Tamilians? Listen, we need a homeland for our suffering people in Sri Lanka and for this do you think Sri Lanka government will agree for talks? These many years it has failed and why did not Mr Sam not observe this? Why dont you call your so called ‘political friends’ and ask them about this? Now I agree with Tamizhan that we have to use guns and a full war on Sinhalese!
Did you all read how Prabhakaran and family was killed? It seems he tried running in an ambulance. How sad. The man who controlled half of Sri Lanka has to face such a fate. He has finally got his own medicine. May God bring peace in Sri Lanka and for Tamils.
Sam go murder yourself. You are a shame for our Tamil community. Die dude that is better.
Cmon guys let us be rational here..After this 20 plus year war and all this ruckus caused, you want to go back, begin a new militant Tamil group and get freedom? You think its gonna work? why dont you go to the shores of Tamil Nadu or hit a small trip to Sri Lanka to see how war has rendered thousands dead and injured? May be that might turn you into a Human Being? I would suggest you to initiate a non-violent, peace-loving Tamil group who can fight for the Tamil rights..but not a war-mongering militia…Past is over..Let us put all this behind and get to biz for the victims of this war!!!
Sam why dont you go there and come once? may be then you will know why war only can get us a Tamil eelam
Sam I agree with you 100%. This has caused so much pain for us. It is true that many have skipped their education and degree abroad and are returning to continue the war. Let us urge them to step back and follow the path of non-violence. If Prabhakaran spent all these years without violence, and instead dialogue and peaceful resorts, today we should have had the Tamil Eelam. Sam dont you think we have to setup a helpline care for those people who are lured to these false groups? may be we can help them in taking the right decision?
yes its really a question. Now after everything is over, what should be our next step? continue or look for a new path?
I think we have to continue what LTTE has stopped. Else what is the use of fighting these many years. Does anybody know of any such groups which have begun? interested.
A golden opportunity has presented itself for the Tamils of Sri Lanks in the demise of Prabhakaran. Hearing so many reports about his ruthlessness, any sympathy I had for him as a Tamil, has gone away. I can never forgive him for eliminating all Tamil intellectuals who favoured a non violent or political solution to this matter. Surely, he was a man with no interest in peace but was keen only on a military solution. He had become a cult like leader with blind devotion from his followers.
What has he done so great for the Tamils except lead them in the path of this bitter war and worse, make them believe that this is the only way? Surely, the blood of so many people will cry out against this one man.
Having said this, it will be interesting to see how the Sri Lankan government will handle this situation. It is a golden opportunity for them to win over the hearts and minds of the Tamils and encourage and facilitate a peaceful and political solution asap.
I hope this situation will give birth to a new generation of Tamil leaders in Sri Lanka who will truly help the Tamil people.
As for those who are coming from abroad to carry on the flames of Prabhakaran, I wish them good luck. I can’t see them garnering sufficient support to do anything. I hope they will do the right and sensible things as described by the author and some of the other comments, and not end up wasting their lives on an extinguishing flame.
Binish post your email for the answer of your question
Binish you should not think like that. It is very dangerous. There are no such organsations or groups that will continue LTTE work. It is a trap, just avoid it. Your parents have sent so much money, spent lot of time sending and educating you abroad, so you should make them happy. This is a dangerous trend that is starting among the Tamil community after the death of Prabhakaran. I hope you can make a thoughtful decision.
Yes Mini, its really a dangerous trap. Sorry to hear that many left their education and have been trapped by these really stupid ideologies….
Hasnt the West anyways influenced them in their way of thinking? lol..

Dev is absolutely right, it is a very golden opportunity for the government to set things straight. In the past I agree that they looked down on the Tamils and were prejudiced and partisan. Even the government of Sri Lanka now has agreed on this. They should now send a message to Tamils that ‘they are one’ and there is no minority in Sri Lanka. If they can integrate the 20% Tamil community and without prejudice and partiality step ahead, the peace process and rebuilding of nation will be fast.
Guys if anyone interested to join the fight for struggle for the Tamil community contact me. The group we have started is called – Youth for Tamil Eelam. We will also travel to Sri Lanka and to some of the previous locations of Prabhakaran where we had our stronghold. You must join us in this war. My email: (blocked)
For those who still think they want to fight through violence, I have just one warning. It is not going to work in this new world!!!
Assassination of Rajiv Gandhi, Sept 11th and many other such events have turned the tide. The whole world is against such forms of violent struggles. If you choose this path, you will be considered as one with people like Bin Laden and groups like AlQaida. Is this not why LTTE lost out? All financial support was cut off through strict money laundering regulations to prevent funding for terrorism.
Even if the cause for a struggle is right, if the means of fighting is wrong then everything becomes wrong in that struggle.
If there is injustice then one should fight, but not with violent means. But with means that are more powerful and that can achieve an end result that is satisfying for everyone. In this modern world, only peaceful and political means of struggles are acceptable to the wider audience. Without the support of wider audience no movement can survive. I hope people realise this soon. Achieving things through violence is so last century now – the world has evolved and is rightly moving in the direction towards solving issues through peaceful and political means.
Mr Dev dont come knockng on the doors of Sri Lanka when we get our Tamil land. Your comment is very discouraging to our youths who want to continue what we have been fighting for. Sometimes violent methods do work to achieve some things. You should understnd somethng. The Tamils are using violence because Sri Lankan government is corrupt and they have not kept their promise of our rights and land. Do you think fighting such an evil government with peace will work? Never. We youths now feel sorry that when Prabhakaran was fighting we could not support him and continue this. Because of our lack of interest, we lost some important Tamil leaders. Even Tamil leaders like Karunanidhi is with Prabhakaran and our side. We are never late, so now is the time for more pepole to join this fight. People never be discouraged by such comments of Sam and others. You should love your brothers who have offered the life for your people in Sri Lanka. Also Sam is an anti-Tamilian and a really unsympathetic and disagreeable person. He has from long been writing against Tamils. Dont at any cost support such people.
Your Tamilian Mate
V, BYE
I strongly suggest Tamilians to support financially these groups although you cant participate in the activities. May be some finance can keep the work going? We should offer money and help, I think.
Now did Prabhakaran die for good or bad? hehe..seriously wondering…looks like its really getting out of hand..
Venom why dont you [blocked] from the website. If at all you will join the wounded LTTE, I will pray you be the first to die you shameless scumbag.
Was an interesting piece I read in TOI..may be thought I should post here..
< <.......At the end of a meeting with the LTTE chief, Rajiv Gandhi asked his son Rahul to fetch his bullet-proof jacket, placed it on Velupillai Prabhakaran’s back, and said with his charming smile: ‘‘Take care of yourself.’’ Later, when officials suggested that Prabhakaran could not be trusted, Rajiv brushed aside the suggestion: ‘‘Prabhakaran has given his word. I trust him.’’ He was referring to the stipulation that the LTTE should disarm to help India find a solution through the accord that was to be signed in Colombo...............The assassination itself was a matter of historical irony, for Rajiv and Prabhakaran not only had a cordial beginning to their relationship, but the former showed deep personal concern for the welfare of Tamils and spearheaded a humanitarian and diplomatic intervention that shook up the Sri Lankan establishment and diluted the country’s rigid unitary structure for the first time.............
Balasingham, who is now dead, said in a book published more than 15 years after the accord that Rajiv and Prabhakaran actually had a ‘‘gentleman’s agreement’’ under which the LTTE supremo, who had deep reservations about the provisions of the agreement, would not oppose it in public, and that he would only make a token surrender of arms. Rajiv had agreed to make good the LTTE’s financial loss if it were to dismantle its tax collection regime in Jaffna. However, all of it is history. India has declined to do now what it did early in 1987 — airdrop food supplies in Jaffna, forcing Colombo to address the core ethnic questions. The result of that negotiation was an accord that led to the merger of the northern and eastern provinces and the establishment of a provincial administration.
If the LTTE leader had resented India’s intervention then, especially the dispatch of the army to enforce the accord, he had much to be sorry for after he assassinated Rajiv in 1991. When he was being cornered to the point of death, there was no India to save him. >>
Venom I would not actually mind if you call me arrogant, stupid, illiterate, prideful..etc..but calling me an anti-Tamilian..hmm..guess you have just read the LTTE article and never browsed through the others where I have described my passion and love for the Tamil community, its music..culture..etc..I cant even speak my mother tongue Malayalam properly, but I can speak Tamil better than Tamilians..even read its text..so you see..you’ve got facts wrong..Why would I otherwise have concern for the Tamils in Sri Lanka? I live in New Delhi, and my city is Bangalore..it shouldn’t concern me..but that’s not how it is..I sympathise with my Tamil bros and sisters on the lose of lives and the barbarous violence that have occurred on civilians there..and all cuz of too many irrational lunatics…and if no restrain placed..you are in line to enter history books as another dreaded terrorist..
I agree with this comment “Even if the cause for a struggle is right, if the means of fighting is wrong then everything becomes wrong in that struggle. ”
If people think violence is going to bring success, it is a very wrong perception. I think the Tamil people does not need this burning heart for violence, but we need the passion to unite, and strive for peace. I hope our Tamil people can act intelligibly.
Sam happy? haha I told you we are very determined and whoever comes our our way, you or your [blocked] we will not leave without a treat. If you still want to play with me, let me know, I have more surprising plans for you. YOUUUUUU [blocked]
yes..you are really irritating..at this time..I would not like to add fuel to fire cuz you are really out of your mind..you gota chill dude..why so furious over me applying my constitutional right to express my views in my blog..I am trying to stop a ‘catastrophe’ from happening by few moronic dudes going on a save eelam trip..
Hello. I want to talk to the administrator. We are cracking down on such groups trying to enter Sri Lanka for creating problems. Please give us more details or email/phone information that you get on such groups. You can also contact the nearest police official in this regard. Our email: police at police.lk
Yes Sir, we have one dude whom we would like to report!! His name starts with V..hehe..kidding..
I thank you for informing us on the need to alert on such groups. In case I have any information I would be more than happy to email you..as of now nothing..You got the wrong blog!
SAM
Sam why are you being afraid of these people? Publish their names here so I can write to the authorites or you should directly inform about these terrorist groups. It is very dangerous for the future of Tamil people Sam. Being in US and hearing of what these people have done is painful to me. People trusted the LTTE when they shunned the government and followed them, but finally it was their death. Prabhakaran has taken so many foolish decisions in his life. We Tamil people are done with these people and want to now revive our people in Sri Lanka than reviving the LTTE.
i am ready to die for tamil people and eelam
where we people are going, it is not eelam we will get from violence in fact that will a hell. let 0.001% chance that we will have a separate land after a long war and destructions then what, we will have another indo – pak like situation or even worst. two enemy country side by side, after which another chain of struggle will start. so it i better to be with friend under the same roof than to make home near enemy’s house. i will suggest to make a strong deplomatic party over there which can stand for rights of tamil people with strong words than to have week guns.
i wonder, the people who came for working in TEA ESTATE as labors (koooli) is now claiming half of the country. a true Indian will never forget what he done to Mr. Rajeev Gandhi. How dare he is… its natural india screwed them by planing the war for srilanka.my dear friends srilanka won the war by using the weapons from Pakistan and Brain from India. since india is a fuckn democracy, we have to show the details of weapon we supplied. So as per india’s advice srilanka bought weapons from pakistan.. to screw these assholes… U all forgot that who ever forgive them, Sonia Gandhi will never forgive them because her blood is not same like us(gandhian),its have a legacy of the great “SICILIAN”. MAMBO ITALIANO… after all Bharat mata ki jai…
