India Internet Subscribers and Usage Information

If you thought traffic in India is only on roads, you might be wrong. Latest report claims, a rapid growth on Internet Users in India. If you ever wondered the statistics and information on India’s growing relationship, here goes the details.
India has seen a 23% growth in new internet connections for the quarter ended October, 2008. And not just internet connections, most of them prefer high speed connections, sometimes even wireless above 512kbps.
Research agencies observed 2.6 million new IP addresses connecting to the global network. Some claim that India has more than 41 million internet users, making it the eighth largest internet population in the world. Hmm..Not a bad number. Hardly could believe this..
And now whats more exciting is that the number is growing every quarter. Currently over 74% of all internet connections in India have speeds over 246kbps.
Now this might be a bummer, however, still found this encouraging..How about you?
